No upfront costs or commitments required to enjoy using Tutorneer
Tutorneer can be used as much or as little as you wish, whether you need a tutor for the whole school year or just a one-time refresher. There are no upfront costs to use Tutorneer to search for a tutor, and no upfront long-term commitments. You are only charged once your lesson is complete, so you can pay as you go! You pay only for the tutoring services you receive, plus a small integrated service fee after each lesson.
Payments
- You agree to maintain valid payment information. To ensure that tutors you hire through Tutorneer receive their payment after lessons are completed, Tutorneer requires that you establish a valid form of payment information in your Tutorneer account. This would include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit and debit cards. Valid payment information must be in place prior to scheduling lessons with tutors. No charges are made to your account until a lesson has occurred. Please note that you must maintain valid payment information in your Tutorneer account for the duration of the tutoring. If a payment method is removed for any reason, you will be required to enter a new billing method before continuing to message tutors or schedule lessons.
- All payments are processed through the Tutorneer platform. By using the Tutorneer app, you are agreeing to make all of your payments to tutors listed on Tutorneer through the Tutorneer system.
Transparent transactions
- You receive a confirmation email and push notification on your phone from Tutorneer each time a tutor submits a session report after your scheduled lesson has been completed. The email shows the total charge for that session. You can view more details about the completed session if you go into the Tutorneer app including: the tutor’s profile, session date, the session start time, duration, total charge, location, and the ability to leave a review about the tutor. The tutor may have also chosen to amend notes about the lesson to the submitted report, which you can view at any time in the Tutorneer app. Any questions related to the hours reported should be discussed with the tutor who can then amend the lesson details. Any further disputes should be communicated to Tutorneer’s customer support by emailing support@tutorneer.ca
- After the tutor reports the lesson hours, Tutorneer charges your payment method on file in your Tutorneer account according to the tutor’s posted hourly rate which includes a small Tutorneer service fee.
- Tutorneer charges a small fee for each lesson, which is integrated into the tutor’s displayed hourly rate. This fee helps us individually vet tutor applications, so we only list tutors with the most experience and subject matter expertise. It also covers customer support, which is available to you at any time.
- Tutors have the ability to give you a discounted lesson if it was discussed and agreed upon before scheduling. The discount can also be used to create a free lesson if it was agreed upon. A tutor may choose to increase their hourly rate at any time, however the rate change will not take affect until a grace period of 2 weeks has elapsed. You are also instantly notified that your tutor will be increasing their price through a push notification and there is also a message prompt when you visit their profile in the app.
- Remember, when you hire a tutor, you are entering into a business relationship directly with that tutor. Therefore, please consult with your tutor about his or her cancellation policy prior to beginning lessons.
